Nobody really knows when the Nameless Tower was built. By sure it was already an old abandoned tower of wizardry, when, in late 2nd Age, Xaltotun, the last powerful magician of the Purple Empire (an evil, mighty empire of the North, destroyed by the Elves, lead by Elrond. From the remains of that empire, the Angmar kingdom will rise long later) decided to occupy it. For long time the Tower was a mean of terror for the nomads of the desert. There Xaltotun was growing and exercising his power, until he felt strong enough to take his revenge against the half elf who destroyed the Empire. He left the Tower to Rivendell, but Elrond was once again stronger than him, and he terminated Xaltotun's existence.
The Tower was without a lord, but an evil aura was around it. Some enchanters tried, in the following centuries, to take possession of it, but many of them died in the trial. And nobody managed to dominate the Tower, during all the Third Age.
In year 20, Fourth Age, Tauman gathered the tribes of the desert into the kingdom of Tirmenon, and Salkaner asked him the permission to enter the Tower, which was, after more than 3000 years, an avoided and feared place.
And Salkaner reached to defeat (although without eliminating them) the curses of the Tower. He was the lord of the Tower until his death (about middle of the first century).
In the time we're playing (3rd century, F.A.), the Nameless Tower has very clear signs of Salkaner domination, and it's ruled by the mystic Zhoran, Lord of the Desert of Tirmenon and obviously a member of the Order of the Black Snake.

Nessuno sa veramente quando sia stata costruita la Torre Senza Nome. Di certo è che verso la fine della Seconda Era essa era già una vecchia torre di magia abbandonata, quando Xaltotun, l'ultimo dei grandi maghi dell'Impero Purpureo (un impero malviagio piuttosto potente del nord, distrutto dagli elfi guidati da Elrond, e sulle cui ceneri nascerà, molto più tardi, il regno di Angmar) decise di occuparla. Per lungo tempo la Torre fu motivo di terrore per i nomadi del deserto. Là Xaltotun coltivava ed accresceva il proprio potere, finchè non si sentì abbastanza forte da vendicarsi di colui che aveva distrutto l'Impero. Lasciò quindi la Torre alla volta di gran Burrone, ma Elrond fu ancora una volta più forte di lui, e pose fine alla sua esistenza. 
La Torre era senza un signore, ma un'aura maligna vi aleggiava. Alcuni incantatori tentarono, nei secoli successivi, di insediarvisi, ma molti perirono nel tentativo. E nessuno riuscì a dominare la Torre, per tutta la Terza Era. 
Nel 20 Q.E. Tauman riunì le tribù del deserto nel regno di Tirmenon, a e lui Salkaner chiese di poter entrare nella Torre, ancora, dopo oltre 3000 anni, luogo temuto ed evitato. 
E Salkaner riuscì a sconfiggere (benchè non a eliminare) le maledizioni che gravavano sulla Torre. Ed egli ne fu signore fino alla morte, verso la metà del secolo.
Nel tempo in cui si svolgono le nostre partite (III secolo, Q.E.), la Torre Senza Nome porta indelebili i segni del dominio di Salkaner, ed è governata dal mistico Zhoran, Signore del Deserto di Tirmenon, e ovviamente membro dell'Ordine del Serpente Nero.
